The works defy gravity and perception. They are metaphors for the immaterial, the fleeting, the transient and that which can be felt but not seen. Here the spiritual almost seems tangible – like something you can wrap your arms around. The work seems familiar because of the implied connections to the world we live in, yet departs strongly from what is possible and plausible.
Artist Bio
Natalie Linstrom has shown extensively in Omaha, Lincoln and greater Nebraska. Farther afield, her work has been exhibited as part of The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in London, England, and included in group shows in New York City and Fort Worth, Texas. Her work is part of public and private collections in Omaha, St. Louis, London, New York City, Kansas City, Denver and Phoenix. Linstrom served as the Community Arts Program Director for the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts from 2004 to April of 2008. She is pursuing her art full time and currently resides in Omaha, NE.
